Cardboard Testimonies

Every Christian has a testimony. Some of our testimonies tell of the things God has delivered us from. Others of us have testimonies of the things that God has kept us from. Either way, it is important that we share our testimonies. When we share our testimonies they encourage other believers, but they also minister to non-believers and act as a means of witnessing.

I found this video some time in 2008. This is a different way of sharing our testimonies. It is very unique, but is also effective.

The Motions

This song is by Matthew West. It has quickly become a daily prayer for me. It is a song that, every time I hear it, I make it a heart felt prayer to God. Listen and enjoy!

Job Interview

I had a job interview yesterday. It went very well. It’s for a job as a cashier at Go Gas. I had a phone interview on Tuesday and they checked my references on Tuesday as well. The in person interview was good, and I had to fill out a questionaire. Once they go over that they will call me in to do a test to see if I can count back change and stuff like that. And once I do that they will get together and decide if they want to hire me. I should no either way sometime next week. I have a good feeling about it though. Something just tells me I’m going to get this job.

Singing Lessons with Maria von Trapp

Ahhh, the memories of watching The Sound of Music with my aunt have just been brought back to mind. I saw this hilarious video on YouTube awhile back and just had to share it with y’all.

Do, Rei, Me, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do

Do- a deer, a female deer
Rei- a drop of golden sun
Me- a name I call myself
Fa- a long long way to run
So- a needle pulling thread
La- a note to follow so
Ti- a drink with jam and bread
Thant will bring us back to do o o

So, in the grand tradition of the von Trapp children, let’s learn to sing (and dance) with Maria!

PS…just disregard the beginning and end- most won’t understand it. You will, however, get a good laugh.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. I had a wonderful day. I woke up and did my Bible reading and then got ready for church. After the morning service, Jeremy and I went out for lunch because I didn’t really want to have to cook. After that we went home for a bit and then went to the library. We went to the evening church service at 6, and it was awesome. We had a guest pastor speaking last night and he was great. He has preached at our church twice before so we knew we were in for a really good message, but this one was awesome. He really had a word from the Lord for our church. I think we all left feeling really refreshed and rejuvenated. When we got home we at sandwiches for supper and I watched two episodes of the second season of House. That was one of my birthday presents from Jeremy. He also got me a book that is the second in a series. I’m looking forward to reading it, too. After playing a few games of Spider Solitaire I headed on to bed. So, that was a pretty good way to spend my 30th birthday.

What’s Going On With My Blog?

I have been making some changes to my blog lately. I moved it to blogspot.com, but wasn’t happy with it there. So, as you can see, I’m moving back over here. You will notice some changes over the next few weeks. I will be adding content that was on here before, but that I removed and put on blogspot. I will be moving some things around, so if you can’t find something don’t think I deleted it. Please bear with me as I get things up and going again. Thanks so much.

So It’s A New Year

It’s a new year already. I can’t believe it’s 2010! My birthday is this Sunday the 10th, and I will be 30. I have been thinking about my childhood alot lately. I suppose that’s because I have reconnected with alot of people on Facebook. I know the cliches are about the good old days, but these can be good days too. I like to look back and think of where I have been, and when I do, alot of times I realize I am better off now than I was then. Of course there are the good times that I miss, but I really don’t miss the mistakes I made. I thank God that He has brought me far from the sin I used to dwell in.

Jeremy and I had a great Christmas. We had dinner with my dad and step-mom. It was a quiet affair with just the four of us. But we had good food and great fellowship. And, it wouldn’t be Christmas without watching “A Christmas Carol”. As a matter of fact, we watched two versions! The day after Christmas, Jeremy and I watched “It’s A Wonderful Life”. I think that’s one of my favorite Christmas movies. Oh, my favorite is “The Nativity Story” which we watched on Christmas morning before we went to my dad’s house.

We also had a quiet New Year. We had spent a few days house sitting for my dad and Melanie. They returned from their trip on New Year’s Eve so we went home. It was late afternoon when we went home and I didn’t want to cook so we went to dinner- nothing fancy, just a simple meal at Huddle House. We stayed up to watch the New Year come in and watched an episode of Little House on the Prairie and then went to bed about 12:45.

I know it’s still early in the year, but we have had some good services at church already. This Sunday was pretty awesome. We had some powerful visits from God at both the morning and evening service. We also had a great time at our midweek service last night. We have our service on Thursday instead of Wednesday.

Other than this we are pretty much the same. We both applied for a job at a new restaurant that is opening up in town. I’m still praying that the Lord will let me remain at home, and so far He has. Jeremy is doing well in his GED classes. He has passed Social Studies, Reading and Science. He is on math right now which is his hardest subject. When he finishes with it he can retake the writing test. Apparently he did well on the essay but missed one to many questions on the multiple choice part. So, I don’t think it will be too hard for him to pass it this second time around.

Well, that’s pretty much it for right now. I will keep you posted on what’s going on with us.
